Whether you are currently dancing at a studio, you haven’t danced in years, or you are still learning, we have a space for you!
All dancers, ages 14 to All Adults, are welcome to audition and dance!

The audition will consist of a short technique class, group learning of several parts, and audition each part in small groups.

Note: If you are unable to attend auditions in person, please consider sending in a video audition. See FAQ’s for Video Audition Instructions. This option is only available for dancers who will be residents of Utah from January-April 2026.

Parts to Audition:
Adult Audition (Ages 14 – All Adult of all skills & abilities)
Parts to Audition: Odette, Odile, Four Swans, Swan Demi-Soloist, Swan Corps de Ballet, Pas de Trois, Royal Court, Fiancés, Czardas, Neapolitan, and Mazurka.
Men’s Audition (Ages 14 – All Adult) Dancing, light dancing & partnering, and acting roles.
Parts to Audition: Siegfried, Rothbart, The Prince’s Advisor, Friends of Siegfried, Pas de Trois, Royal Court, Czardas, Neapolitan, and Mazurka.
Note: If your child is around the age of 14, and you are unsure if your child can audition, please consider their current ability, level, and maturity.

When & where will rehearsals be held?
Saturday Afternoons in Orem and Utah County
Below is a basic schedule. A detailed schedule will be released with casting, so dancers can plan accordingly.
Senior Company:
Saturday afternoons (3 Hour Block), Orem.
Note: Soloist and Pas de Deux rehearsals will be scheduled on Saturday mornings and afternoons.
Exact schedules and locations will be sent with casting.
Are there any key dates I need to be aware of?
TBA. Yes, please make note of the list below. Close to the shows, there will be full day rehearsals, so please plan on blocking out time from 9 AM – 9 PM (even though, it might not extend the full period).
How can I prepare for auditions?
Continue working on your ballet technique, acting skills, and stage presence. No need to prepare a specific piece for auditions, we will teach you the choreography there.
Arrive at 10:30 AM to receive your number, and start warming up as soon as you can. Come feeling your best by eating a good breakfast before, and dress your best with your hair done and clean attire.
Is there a tuition fee for the season?
Yes, there will be a small tuition for the season for the Adult Company will be about $150-200 total, including the costume fee. Exact amounts announced shortly.
Note: Scholarship options may be available. Please reach out to a director if you have any questions regarding tuition.
When will the performances be?
End of March or Early April at the Orem Library Hall.
I would love to be involved, but I’m not interested in dancing. Is there another way I can be a part of UVCB?
Yes! You can join the team and help put on this classic production of the Nutcracker.

- We need you!
- There are so many things to do and to prepare to bring a full-length ballet together, and we can’t do it alone. Come be involved as much or as little as you’d like!
- Lead a committee in an area you’re interested in, or come be a part of a committee and help where you want.

Who can audition?
Any dancer, ages 8-adult, no matter how long it’s been since you’ve danced. Utah Valley Civic Ballet is here to provide performance opportunities!
